Life Sucks!
I HATE today!!!
*Walked into the office and one of my coworkers asks me how my new job search is going right when my boss walks in.
*Went to Justin Herman Plaza to see their Conan event and my ex, who almost a year ago to the day after he told me that there was another woman and dumped me, comes up to say hi. He looked good and I looked like crap. Great!
Yeah, I wanna go home and hide!

I feel you, babe! If I were there, I'd drag you straight to the Mission for a drink! ;) I'm all for washing the blues away...

Thanks hun. Keep your fingers crossed for me :-).

I know, that was one of my biggest fears, too. Even though I looked like shit, it feels good to think that he's still unemployed and lives at home. What makes it worse is that he's 33. But I still wish I looked hot when I saw him.
brimful:
Girl, you know that I need a grey goose right now. I'm going to see Goldspot and Travis tonight at the Fillmore and you know I'll have a drink for both of us :-).
Special shout out to Rush:
My site has been acting funky (I don't know if anyone elses is, too). When I was at one computer, I read her sweet comment, but when I got back to my desk, her comment was deleted. So Rush, thanks for the good karma from the east coast and right back at ya from the west. :-)

Sugar, the fact that you don't live at home with the 'rents gives you enough to lord over him. I bet he thought you looked hot even if you didn't think you looked hot.
I'm glad you're back. Yay!

Aww, thanks girl. I guess I'm a little heart broken since he was the last guy I seriously dated (it's been a year-wow!). While I knew asking him if he was still unemployed and if he was still living at home would boost my ego, I was still dying to know if he was still with the girl he dumped me for, but couldn't ask and scared to go on Friendster to find out...oh well...
Yeah, I need to write more about this-stay tuned... :-)
agk:
Ohh, a missed connection (I love these things). So what was I wearing? What bus was I on? Just Kidding. More than likely it wasn't me since I'm not skinny enough to be a hipster-lol! There is this hot hipster desi girl I've been checking out at shows though, maybe it was her? ;-)

actually, the girl i saw wasn't really a skinny mini (but not really overweight either). she was with another asian hipstery girl and a "regular" white girl. it was the outbound 21 bus on market ;) i tend to ignore the hipster desi girls i see around 'cause i just can't relate and they tend to be surround by a flock of other hipsters that just put me off ... well i've already commented about this before :)

Ohh agk, now I'm sure it wasn't me-I've never taken the 21. But if you ever see an average height/weight desi girl on Muni trying to be "hipsteresque" with her chipped black nail polish looking more desi-boho chic listening to the latest bollywood hit on her iPod, tap me on the shoulder and say hi! :-).

PS-I'd probably also give you the desi stare, too ;-)

DUDE. So let me tell you. I saw this yesterday afternoon while at work, started laughing at the first part of your post, and then immediately turned to my work buddy who was standing closeby and said, "Hey! Listen to this!" and read it out loud to her.
I was telling her how my cousin has been sending me craigslist links to jobs, and the work buddy laughed and said, "Yeah, my friend has been sending me stuff about teaching positions, too, cuz she thinks I should be a teacher instead."
I felt an anti-work rant coming on, so I said REALLY LOUDLY, "Yeah, and I'm never going to work for an organization like this AGAIN, because -"
And the work buddy cut me off with waving gestures and horrified grimaces while pointing to The Boss' office right across the hall: "[The Boss] is here! She's back!"
I was like, "Oh, SHIT."
But luckily she didn't hear anything. But still... Whew!
Thought you might be amused by my narrow miss. ;)
PS: agk's "ol' IndianEyeBall" comment hella made me laugh. :D

:S ouch! its always a good idea to keep "looking for new job" conversation topics strictly outside the office. i learnt my lesson in a very similar way! :\

Hey girl! Your story was "hella" funny (gotta have a NorCal shoutout). Lucky you you weren't caught. I'm still not sure if my boss heard it or not, but I have my annual performance review tomorrow and she's not here today, so I don't know. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Also, lemme know when you're out in SF again!
c,s,&b:
Girl, I always seem to get in trouble whenever I start looking for a new job (I've gotten fired before). I gotta learn how to keep my mouth shut. I think my boss is suspecting that I'm thinking on leaving since the attrition rate is soo high in nonprofits. Besides my performance review, we are going to find out whether we got the grant from the city of SF. Funny thing is I may have jury duty tomorrow...will keep you posted...
